Students felt the librarian is not involved in the making of the video Harlem Shake.
Students at the University of Oxford, England ask the university to hire back a librarian who they say fired for his involvement in the making of the video contains scenes of Harlem Shake dance in the library.
In a video that has been uploaded to the site You Tube there appeared to be 30 students doing the Harlem Shake dance held in the Library of St Hilda.
The video itself has been watched by more than 5000 people.
Students on campus tersbut Committee, JCR filed a motion to have the status librarians who fired it restored.
In response, a spokesman for Oxford University said they would not give any comment.
JCR President, Esther Gosling said in addition to fire a librarian, this video due to the university manager also impose fines ranging from 30 pounds to 60 pounds or about Rp439 thousand to Rp879 thousand more students involved.
Overreacting
Gosling describes the Harlem Shake dance video was produced by students in the library before midnight.
He insisted that the librarian was not involved in organizing the action and can not do much to menghentikannnya.
"We do not want to underestimate the university authorities decision, but in this case we think the reaction is excessive and unfair dismissal was punishment," he said.
Goling said the university had told him they could not comment on individual matters of their staff.
Harlem Shake itself is a mass dance movements that are currently being raised in the world, and usually starts with one person dancing, followed by others, usually using costumes or other equipment.
More than 4,000 people per day uploading a 30-second dance videos along with various kinds of variations.
