Steven
Paul Jobs was born in San Francisco, California, USA, February 24, 1955
is the leader of Apple Computer with Steve Wozniak and the main
character in the computer industry. As
founder (with Steve Wozniak) of Apple Computer in 1976, he popularized
the concept of a computer in the household with the Apple II. Later,
he was one of the first to recognize the potential for commercializing
the graphical user interface (graphical user interface) and mouse
developed at Palo Alto Research Center Xerox company, and then the
application of technology to the Apple Macintosh.
Jobs also lead Pixar Animation Studios, a leading animation company in the world computer screen. has become a multi-millionaire before the age of 30 years. Starting
with the NeXT company to make the education system at an affordable
cost, finding that selling software is better than selling hardware.
Born
in San Francisco by his mother Joanne Simpson and Abdulfattah Jandali
guest student from Syria who became a political science professor. Since the baby he adopted Paul and Clara Jobs of Mountain View, Santa Clara County California. Adoptive parents that gave the name of Steven Jobs. Biological parents later married and gave her younger sister named Mona Simpson who is now famous as a novelist.
He
passed the junior high and high school in Curpetino, Califonia, often
after school hours teaching at Hewlett Packard Company in Palo Alto,
California. So no wonder that soon after he and Steve Wozniak soon be working part-time at the company. In
1972, Jobs graduated from Homestead High School in Cupertino,
California and was accepted at Reed College in Portland, Oregon, but
spent / drop out after one semester. But he immediately signed up to Reed College, one of the things he learned here calligraphy. "If
I had never taken out of the study is only one half of the current Mac
probably will not have multiple typefaces or fonts are proportional," he
said.
In autumn 1974, Jobs returned to California and began attending meetings of "Homebrew Computer Club" with Steve Wozniak. He and Wozniak with working at Atari Inc.., A manufacturer of the famous computer game, with a position as a game designer. The motivation then was to raise money for a spiritual retreat to India.Jobs
then traveled to India with spiritual enlightenment at Reed College
friend, Daniel Kottke, who would later become the first Apple employee. Returned from India he became a Buddhist with hair shaved / bald and wearing traditional Indian clothing (monk?). During
this time he practiced psychedelics (a kind of meditation in which Jobs
often considered odd, because walking barefoot over the snow-this kind
of mindfulness meditation). It was two or three most important things in life he has ever done in his life.
In 1976, Jobs, then 21, and Wozniak, 26, founded Apple Computer Co.. in the Jobs family garage. Personal computer Jobs and Wozniak introduced the Apple I. given name The
computer was sold for U.S. $ 666.66, as a reference to the phone number
of Wozniak's Dial-A-Joke machine, which ended in -6666.
In
1977, Jobs and Wozniak introduced the Apple II, which became a huge
success in the home market and give Apple a major influence in the
personal computer industry was still young. In 1980, Apple Computer became a publicly traded corporation, and with a successful initial public offering, Jobs fame grew. That year, Apple Computer Apple III release, although its success was not as good as before.
Along
with the development of Apple Computer, the company began looking for
new leadership to help manage the company's development. In
1983, Jobs lured John Sculley, of the Pepsi-Cola company, to lead Apple
Computer, with the challenge, "Do you want to sell carbonated drinks in
your life, or will you change the world?" (Do
you want to just sell sugared water for the rest of your life, or do
you want to change the world?) Later that year, Apple also released the
Apple Lisa is technologically very advanced at the time but failed to
reach buyers in market share .
Year
1984 to the introduction of the Macintosh, the first computer
commercially successful by presenting a graphical user interface. Mac
development triggered by Jef Raskin and the team uses technology that
has been developed not by Apple, such as at Xerox's PARC, but have not
been commercialized. The success of the Apple Macintosh led Apple to abandon the Mac II in order to develop production, which continues to this day.
Although
Jobs was a persuasive and charismatic for Apple, Many consider him as a
leader who easily changes his mind and high emotionless. In 1985, after many cause problems of leadership in the Apple, Sculley Jobs dismiss from office and expelled from Apple.
Once
out of Apple, Jobs founded another computer company, NeXT Computer
which like Lisa, NeXT was ahead in terms of technology, but never became
famous, but in the scope of scientific research. (Tim
Berners-Lee developed the World Wide Web system at CERN using a NeXT
workstation.) But NeXT helped advance technologies like-object-oriented
programs, PostScript, and magneto-optical devices.
In 1996, Apple bought NeXT for U.S. $ 402 million, and brought Jobs back to the company he founded. In 1997 he became a leader while at Apple after the departure of Gil Amelio.
With
the purchase of NeXT, much of the technology from NeXT implemented into
Apple products, most notably NeXTSTEP, which evolved into Mac OS X. Under Jobs' guidance the company increased sales after introducing the iMac. iMac is the first computer sold with emphasis on performance (although the iMac also use a lot of advanced technology in it). Since then, the appearance of an attractive and well-known brand that has paid dividends for Apple.
Lately, Apple began to spread their wings. With
the introduction of the iPod portable music devices, the iTunes
software, and the iTunes Music Store, the company is doing a
breakthrough in the field of personal electronic devices and online
music. While
stimulating innovation, Jobs also reminds his officers that, "genuine
artist to fruition," (real artists ship) that the intention is, to
produce works on time is as important as innovation and product
sharpshooter.
Jobs worked at Apple for several years with a salary of U.S. $ 1/tahun. Hence
he recorded in the Guinness World Records as "the leader of the company
with the lowest salary" (Lowest Paid Chief Executive Officer). Profit after Apple started selling again, the company releasing his title as interim leader. Apple's current income in the U.S. was $ 219 million, according to an article written on the Bloomberg site in 2003.
Jobs
was admired for his ability to convince people and become a superior
salesman, who is often called the reality distortion field and this is
evident as he gave the keynote speeches at Apple expos. However, his persistence has also been invited shit. Violent head may have caused Apple to lose a golden opportunity to become a leader in the field of personal computers. Keenganannya
to let other companies make compatible with Macintosh computers that
Apple must defeat resulted in the capture of the user's computer. Hardware and software companies finally decided to adopt the IBM PC platform that uses Microsoft's operating system. Microsoft then also catch up with Apple by developing a graphical user interface of their own making, Microsoft Windows.
Jobs founded in 1986 (with Edwin Catmull) Pixar, a computer animation studio in Emeryville, California. The
company was founded on what was formerly owned by Lucasfilm computer
graphics division, which Jobs bought from its founder, George Lucas, for
U.S. $ 10 million. A decade later, Pixar developed into a well-known and successful with breakthrough movie Toy Story. Since then Pixar has produced films that won the Academy Award that is Finding Nemo and The Incredibles. Because
of his leadership at Pixar and also kemapanannya at Apple, Jobs is
considered by many one of the entertainment industry observers
replacement candidate Michael Eisner as head of The Walt Disney Company,
which distributes and finance films made by Pixar. On 25 August 2011, Founder and President (CEO) of Apple Inc., Steven Paul Jobs finally officially decided to resign. But he is still remembered by the people of the world because of the work - his work. Beginning in 1976 she issued Apples l. Masterpiece - his work continues to evolve as recently as 2010 he issued an iPad that had horrendous world.
