The error occurred in the factory packaging Chivas Brothers
Thousands of liters of whiskey thrown down the drain by accident at a bottling plant in Dumbarton, Scotland.
This fallacy occurs at Chivas Brothers now shift Tuesday night when the equipment is being cleaned.
Rather than dispose of waste water, the workers just throw away thousands of liters of whiskey.
The aroma is very strong that officers waste report.
Chivas Brothers which employs 600 employees in the factory and produce the world's second best-selling brand, Ballantines, said they were investigating the incident.
A statement said: "We are conducting an investigation into the dumping accident on February 26th at our factory in Dumbarton, where whiskey dumped into wastewater management by our workers.
"No discharge into the River Leven alcohol or other water sources. We have informed Scottish Water Company and all relevant officials. |
The harmful effects
A spokesman for the water company said: "The staff at the central wastewater treatment has recognized this problem and trying to track down the source when they contact the Chivas Brothers.
"The team has now visited the feasibility of our trading company to find out their investigations so that we can be sure to take all precautions to prevent the incident happening again.
"Disposing of large amounts of alcohol into the gutter can have a harmful impact on the wastewater treatment process, especially in cold and dry weather.
"We continue to monitor the treatment of wastewater in Dumbarton to ensure no contamination."
